We asked Body Machine Fitness (BMF) co-founder and president, Margaux Phoenix, to break down why fitness resolutions fail and how to find a workout program or gym near you that really gets results.
So what gives? Why is it so hard to keep working out?
According to Margaux, people ditch their fitness resolutions for three main reasons:
No. 1: Boredom
Does this sound familiar: It’s the New Year; you’re filled with positive vibes; you aspire to have a fit, healthy lifestyle; so you join a gym. After a couple of weeks, you end up doing the same class, same machines, same BORING routine – over and over again.
As Margaux explains, “Unfortunately, one of the biggest reasons people quit working out is because they simply get bored with their workout and dread going back to the gym. Eventually, they end up working out less and less, which means they don’t reach their fitness goals. Why keep working out if you’re not getting results?”
The solution? Keep mixing things up
First, find a local gym, boot camp or boutique fitness center – like Body Machine Fitness in Plano – that offers a variety of classes and lots of state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Next, ask how often the trainers change up their workouts. The more frequent, the better.
